Press CenterKurt E. Yeager Elected to APX Board of DirectorsSanta Clara, CA - March 9th, 2005 - APX today announced the election of Kurt E. Yeager to its Board of Directors and will help lead the company's corporate governance, effective March 4, 2005. Mr.Yeager, with more than 30 years of experience in the energy industry and energy research, is the immediate past President and Chief Executive Officer of the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), the national collaborative research and development organization for electric power. Under Mr.Yeager's leadership, EPRI evolved from a non-profit electric power research institute into a family of companies encompassing collaborative and proprietary R&D as well as technical solution applications for the electricity enterprise in the U.S. and over 40 other countries. "We are pleased to have Kurt join our Board of Directors," said APX Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, Tom Lewis. "Kurt is an industry luminary. He has been at the forefront of policy and technology change in the Power industry for years, and his experience will be invaluable in our ongoing growth and success." Prior to joining APX, Mr.Yeager served in many capacities at EPRI, including as President, CEO and COO. During Mr. Yeager's tenure at EPRI he has been a tireless advocate for the importance of advancing scientific and technological innovation in the electricity enterprise. This leadership culminated in EPRI's publication in 1999 of the Electricity Technology Roadmap and, in 2003 of the Electricity Sector Framework for the Future. Previously, Mr. Yeager was the director of Energy R&D Planning for the EPA Office of Research. Prior to that he was with the MITRE Corporation as associate head of the Environmental Systems Department, and he was a distinguished graduate of the Air Force Nuclear Research Officer's Program. Mr. Yeager's addition to the APX Board brings the total number of distinguished members on the governance committee to seven. Board members include Tom Lewis, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer; Ira Ehrenpreis: General Partner, Technology Partners; Bob Larson: Co-Founder and Managing Director, Woodside Fund; Terry Opdendyk: General Partner, Onset Ventures; Jane Seto: Vice President, Bechtel Enterprises Holdings; and Jake Tarr: Managing Director, Kinetic Ventures. Mr. Yeager received a Bachelor's degree from Kenyon College and completed post-graduate studies in chemistry and physics at Ohio State and the University of California, Davis. He has also completed post-graduate management programs at the Industrial College of the Armed Forces and the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Finance. About APX, Inc.
