Press CenterAPX Appoints Gerry Sherer as Chief Financial OfficerSanta Clara, CA - August 21, 2008 - APX, Inc., the leading infrastructure provider for environmental and energy markets, today announced the appointment of Gerry Sherer as Chief Financial Officer. As CFO, Mr. Sherer will be responsible for all aspects of APX’s finance function, including accounting, financial planning and analysis, tax, treasury, audit and settlement services. “Over his career, Gerry has distinguished himself as a financial executive with broad expertise in the capital markets,” said Brian Storms, APX’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “He is uniquely qualified to lead our finance efforts as we continue to capitalize on the tremendous opportunities before us in the environmental commodities and energy markets. We are delighted that he is joining the APX team and look forward to his contributions.” “Through its technology and innovative market systems, APX is transforming the carbon emissions markets and enabling environmental commodities trading around the world,” said Mr. Sherer. “The financial markets will play an essential role in the on-going development of the environmental commodities market and I am excited to bring my experience to APX as we help the Company realize its enormous potential.” Mr. Sherer joins APX from Refco, where he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. During his tenure, Mr. Sherer managed the public bond offering, took the firm public, and managed a major acquisition and other acquisition related activities. From 1997 to 2005, Mr. Sherer worked at Deutsche Bank, where he held senior positions in London and New York, including Deputy Global Head of Controlling and CFO of the Global Corporate Investment Bank, and CFO of the Americas and the Global Head of Internal Controls. In addition, he was a member of the firm’s senior management group and served on the Group Finance Committee. Earlier in his career, he served as the Chief Financial Officer of all U.S. operations at CIBC Wood Gundy and was a senior Vice President of the Finance Division at Goldman Sachs & Co. Additionally, Mr. Sherer was a Principal with Arthur Young & Company (now Ernst & Young) and a computer systems analyst. Mr. Sherer has a B.S. in Computer Science and an MBA in Finance and Operations Research. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Sherer’s appointment is effective immediately and he will report to Mr. Storms. About APX, Inc.
