New York, NY – October 15, 2015 – APX Inc., the leading infrastructure provider for environmental and energy markets, is pleased to announce that the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) has selected APX, Inc. to design, build, implement, operate, maintain and administer a generation attribute tracking system for the State of New York, the New York Generation Attribute Tracking System (NYGATS). The system will allow for origination, certification, tracking, transfer, and retirement of Certificates and will support New York State policies and programs, including New York’s Environmental Disclosure Program (EDP), Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS), and the voluntary market for renewable energy and renewable energy certificates.

NYGATS will issue certificates for all electricity generation in New York as well as for imported power beginning with January 2016 vintage. The system will also support import and export transactions with neighboring power regions. APX and NYSERDA are working to implement NYGATS and will shortly initiate a stakeholder consultation process on the NYGATS Operating Procedures.
